Kopula: improve your networking
Wouter, Seif and I go to networking events for Kwantor. Oftentimes we didn't meet the kind of people we hoped to meet. The networking part is an hour at best, sometimes squeezed in after the talks, and you spend it with whoever happens to be standing next to you. Then you go home, and somewhere in that room might have been the cofounder, the investor or the developer you came for. You'll never know who it was…
So Wouter started Kopula.
At the door, the organiser's helpers scan each guest's LinkedIn QR code with their phone. That takes a few seconds, and nobody installs anything new, the code is already in their LinkedIn app. Afterwards the organiser shares the list with the room: who came, with their LinkedIn, and you tick off who you've connected with. Any person you didn’t manage to meet, you can connect with later on with one tap.
There’s also the option for public profiles; then you’re searchable by what you are and what someone is looking for: founder, looking for a co-founder, contributor, investor. There’s ways to match with entrepreneurs through the app.
Kopula has been demo’s it at a number of events so far, and people have been really enthusiastic about it. It's in beta and free. Once we reach 1,000 users we'll build a native app.
If you organise startup events, or just go to them, try it.
