Convex application development

Convex backends with SvelteKit or React: reactive data, integrations and migrations. Built by a freelance developer in Zaandam, near Amsterdam.

When several screens share the same facts

Convex is useful in the kind of applications I like building: workspaces where a change needs to reach several people or several parts of the interface. I work with it behind both SvelteKit and React.

Two different uses

In Guidesty, Convex keeps a shared itinerary, map, polls and budget in step. The application starts with a guest session, so the access model has to work before somebody creates an account.

At UpLinked I moved an existing product from Bubble to Convex. The work covered data migration, agents, versioned prompts and billing. Moving the rows was only part of it: the new system had to preserve the relationships and behaviour the existing product depended on.

What I can help with

I can help model the data, connect a frontend, implement permissions and integrate external services. For an existing product, I start by mapping what owns each piece of data and how a migration can be checked. Reactive updates are useful only when the underlying permissions and state transitions are correct.
